Thimpu
Friday, March 20th, 2009Thimpu, besides being the capital, is also the biggest and most important city of Bhutan, in the context of its social, political and economic affairs. The city of Thimpu is perched at a relatively high altitude. All Governmental operations are carried out from this region. Thimpu has attained the transition from a largely rural area to a burgeoning city.
The climate of this region is predominantly temperate and the temperature is moderate throughout the year. Memorial Chorten is one of the most famous landmarks of this city. Tourism constitutes a major chunk of the city’s revenue. Agriculture is also a leading occupation for the people in this city.
